Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 700g russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 15g garlic
- ½ cups or so of milk
- Salt & pepper
Utensils
- 2 QT saucepan
- Silicone scraping spatula
- Potato masher
- 3 QT mixing bowl
- Cutting board
- Chef’s knife
Instructions
- Rinse and peel potatoes.
- Chop potatoes into eighths.
- Put potatoes in the saucepan and cover with water.
- Boil until the potatoes can no longer be picked up with a fork.
- Mince garlic and soak in olive oil.
- Remove excess water and dump the potatoes into the mixing bowl.
- Pre-mash the potatoes a little and add salt & pepper.
- In the saucepan, saute garlic until it smells great.
- Add butter and continue to saute the garlic until all the butter is melted and it smells great.
- Mix in the potatoes.
- Remove from heat and mash, adding milk a little at a time to get it to the desired consistency.
- Serve!
